BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Over a million innocent children are orphaned or abandoned in Zimbabwe due to the devastating HIV/AIDS crisis. These orphans struggle for necessities: food,
clothing, education and medicine. There is much to do, but each and every person has the power to make an impact in these precious children’s lives both physically and
spiritually. Manhinga Village Children’s Home is an orphanage that operates under the auspices of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM). It is situated in Nyanga 45 km from Rusape to
Nyanga.
Submersible Water Pump
The motor of
the submersible water pump at the village went down due to a power
surge and thus we are currently looking for well wishers who can
supply us with a replacement. In Zimbabwe we found a quotation for a
full set including an Intelligent Meter box which prevents damage
from power interruptions, going for US$1000-00, the price includes
installation. We hope in future we will be able to sink a manual
borehole which will not be affected by power outages.

BRIEF HISTORY
Pastor and Mrs. de Jager founded the home in 1982 and it got its registration with Department of Social Welfare in 1987. The home caters for up to 100 children both sexes aged from 1 to 18 years.
The center survives on donations from well wishers but these are not
usually enough to cover for the children's basic needs, we have
therefore opened up this website to let you know about Manhinga and the
projects that you might be interested in helping us develop in order to
impact the lives of the orphans here.
